Folk-rock band, The Avett Brothers(Who I’m admittedly a fan of), were the musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday. In his typical get-guests-to-do-anything style, Fallon persuaded the Brothers Avett to assist on a skit, where the band remastered heavy metal classics in their trademark folk style. While they only performed popular songs like Metallica‘s “One,” Iron Maiden‘s “Run to the Hills” and Sabbath‘s “Iron Man,” there were mention of other songs supposedly on the album. Most notable is “Chapel of Ghouls” from Morbid Angel. Methinks someone on his staff is an actual metal head.

In case you are wondering, the website is a dead end. A mock page for the album would have gone a long way IMO.

Avett Brothers Metal Fallon

So much talk about Jimmy Fallon lately. Ok, maybe not all that much, but twice in under a week is considerable. Now we can add another one to that count because Jimmy is having another notable musical guest next week. That guest is none other than the mighty Black Sabbath.

According to a late night listings post from the site Interbridge (Which I don’t know how or why they have this info to begin with) the metal legends will be sharing the appearance with Russell Crowe and Sofia Coppola.

Watch for yourselves on Monday, June 10th. Be sure to check back here on the 11th for the clip, in case you’re too old and you’ll be in bed at that hour.

That Metal SHow Logo

I personally no longer have cable TV so it will be the internets for me! Perhaps there will be a season recap on a future podcast? Anything is possible! Check out the full season guest list below.

June 15 – Rex Brown (PANTERA, KILL DEVIL HILL) and Sebastian Bach (100th Episode)
